New Car: 2012 Hyundai Tucson Limited

Meet the newest addition to our family! Over the weekend, we purchased a 2012 Hyundai Tucson Limited in black. We decided to just trade-in my husband's truck instead of fixing the problems. We received a lot more in return and then there was also his military discount. You factor in Hyundai's warranty (10-year/100,000 miles powertrain protection, 5-year/unlimited mile 24-hour roadside assistance, etc.) and this really is the best choice and deal for us.

I apologize in advance about the picture overload. This is mostly for our family and friends in Indiana who have been asking for pictures :)

We chose the limited edition because it automatically comes with leather seats. That was our main #1 request; everything else would be "extra." I know many people do not like leather seats because they get really hot in the summer. But with children (and pets), leather seats are just the easiest way to keep and maintain the interior of the vehicle clean.

We chose to forgo the panoramic sunroof and navigation/rear view camera. Being a military family, we move a lot and we could really use the extra space. And especially now that we don't have my husband's truck anymore, we need the extra space more than ever. So we added the roof rack instead. Then the wedding gift from my best friend/maid of honor is still functional (GPS) so we also said no to the navigation system. That meant giving up the rear view camera but we have talked about having one installed later. But that will get rid of our auto-dimming rear view mirror so I don't really know what to do.

There are airbags EVERYWHERE: front, back, side-curtain. The computer even calculates how fast you're going so it can adjust the force of deployment. I feel really safe having Nathaniel in this vehicle.

Car came with cargo net, mat and cover. Extra stuff. The backseats can be folded down for extra trunk space.

Plenty of room inside. My husband can put his seat all the way back and there would still be plenty of leg room for passengers at the back. Yay!

XM-Sirius Satellite radio, dual-temp control, CD. It even comes equipped with a Bluetooth system so we can sync our smart phones.

The car has Active Eco-System option that modifies engine and transmission control. It's 22 mpg city (32 mpg highway) but we can potentially get a lot more than that with the Active Eco-System on.

Seat warmers---or as I like to call them: butt warmers. I've never been more excited to go to Indiana in the winter :) There are also USB, regular car plug, 12-V, etc. plug ins.

It's a 2.4L 4 cylinder front wheel drive with Shiftronic (manual slap shift) option. Hubby is probably going to use that just because he's really sad he no longer has his manual truck.

18-inch Aluminum-alloy wheels perfect for shorties like me! It has mud guards, too. Again, extra stuff.

Hubby already got it program so you can use the car to open our garage door. Neat.

We really, really like it so far so I hope she will treat us well for a very long time. The good thing is, we can fit up to three kiddoes in there :)
