Beautiful Lighting

As a photographer, I notice lighting more than an average person. Usually when Hubby is driving, I space out because I'm busy awing about the beautifulness of it all. The contrast between lightness and darkness. The way it shines on the trees and buildings. Streaming from big beautiful windows, like the ones in the photos. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day,  and the lesser light to rule the night.  He made the stars also.  17  God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth,  18  and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1: 16-18

Project 365: Week 6

36  Playing with my newly purchased Bare Minerals makeup. And also showing off my extension eyelashes. Love them! 37  Thoroughly enjoying a cup of hot chocolate. 38  I rarely ever get hot drinks from Starbucks but it's becoming more frequently. I am usually an iced cold coffee and frappuccino type of gal. I was totally digging Starbucks choice of music that morning. They were playing late 90s/early millennium songs! 39  Monthly Spouses Night Out was make your own pizza. So I guess we all thought to bring something healthy to counteract the pizza because we all brought fruit! 40   Hubby is home ! 41  Playing at the store side of Crackle Barrel. 42  Nathaniel reading in bed and Riley decided to join us .

Where Has My Little Dog Gone?

A cold, rainy Monday (or any day really!) makes a perfect recipe for a lazy day. I was cancelled again from work (the first time was on Friday) for low patient census so we suddenly had the entire day to do whatever we pleased. Hubby had to go to work for a few hours to take care of paperwork from his two-week trip to VA so it was just me and Nathaniel in the morning. We took our time getting ready and Nathaniel's first lazy activity of choice was to read in bed. Our dog Riley eventually decided to join us later. These photos make me cringe because of the awful lighting. There are three different types of light: overhead lamp (fluorescent), lamp on my back right (bulb), and natural window light on the right side. But I'm trying to focus more on sharing memories not just "pretty pictures" so here they are anyway.

Dada's Home!

Hubby arrived home yesterday afternoon after a two-week stay in Quantico, VA for a class. In the bottom Instagram photo, Nathaniel said: "My whole family is here!" As you can tell, we all could not be happier :)

Project 365: Week 5

29  My Invisible Man date. Hubby usually sits there during our weekly breakfast date but since he is in Quantico, VA, it was just me. 30  See the worst part of the storm? That was when I was driving home from work in I-20. It was like driving through a car wash so I didn't have a choice but to pull over. And I know this is technically a phone screen shot but it was all I could manage that day. I had a long, terrible day at work. 31  It's perfectly alright to have frozen yogurt for dinner when Hubby is not around ;) Orange Leaf "play date" with the Topping girls. 32  MOMs Club Chili Cook Off at the local fire station. Nathaniel acted horribly---refused to share toys and tested my authority. And added stress of Hubby being gone did not help; I just lost it and sobbed on our way home. Single parenting is no joke. Hats off to you who has to do it. 33  I love working 8-hour shifts and seeing the sun still out when I get off. Spent the night at the Gomez's h
