Super Moon

I am a little behind on posting my super moon photos, which happened the weekend of May 5-6th. But nonetheless, here they are along with my favorite type of moon: crescent. And here's a little fun fact and explanation about my obsession with moon and stars.---The name Diana, my name, is the roman goddess of moon (and also hunting and fertility). I personally like the greek name equivalent (Artemis) and often use it as a username. May 4: Night before the Super Moon. As you can tell by the bottom left, she is not quite full moon yet. 300mm f/11 1/250 sec ISO 100 May 5: Super Moon 300mm f/11 1/250 sec  ISO 100 May 5: Super Moon and Clouds I still haven't quite learn how to include the clouds in the photo without overexposing the moon. This was the best I could do. 300mm f/11 1/250 sec  ISO 100 May 26: Crescent 300mm f/11 1/15 sec  ISO 100

St. Simon's Island Pier

On our last day in St. Simon's Island, we visited their pier. We saw so many interesting things like a shark and horseshoe crab! The locals were fishing (sharking?) for sharks to tag them and we were lucky to see them catch and release one. I was reassured by them (and many more times by Hubby since then) that this shark will be fine. Later in the afternoon, we went back to St. Simon's East beach for our last day at the beach.

Jekyll Island

On our fourth day of vacation, we drove half an hour south to Jekyll Island and the weather was perfect. Sunshiny and breezy! There were a group of students fishing for different water animals and the boys were very curious to learn about the animals, too. We also visited the Sea Turtle Rehabilitation and Hospital. The rescued sea turtles were injured from propellers, cars, dehydration and/or malnutrition. Velcro-ed weights on their shells were used for diving therapy because without their ability to dive, turtles cannot find food and starve to death :(

St. Simon's Island

It was cloudy and super hot on our first day at the beach in St. Simon's Island (it eventually rained in the afternoon). The boys had a great time exploring the beach and playing with sand and driftwoods. Dean got severely sunburned after a couple of hours of laying out (see second to the last photo) and I had this for lunch. Overall, it was a great day.
