First Day of School: Third Grade

Today was Nathaniel's first day of third grade. We didn't think we would be back to McNair for his third grade but alas, here we are! Since Hubs graduated this past July, we thought we would have PCSed to a new duty station shortly after. Unlike most kids who started school with a fresh cut, Nathaniel still insists on growing his hair out.

Crazy Hair Day

I am a little discouraged that Nathaniel's new school is not as enthusiastic about school spirit week. (But they do a lot of after school events!) Per Nathaniel, not a lot of students participated. But that didn't stop him from participating everyday of the week. Monday: Pajama Day Tuesday: Crazy Hair Day Wednesday: Sports Day - Go Chiefs! Thursday: Career Day - dressed as a musician  Friday: School Spirit Photo taken April 10, 2018

Kids Will Be Kids

We had a huge snow fall last March and the bigger kids were begging to play in it (poor Eleanor was sick). Well I asked if they wanted to clean Daddy's car instead. Hubby was heading to work anway and I figured why not kill two birds with one stone. Well, they sure showed me. If they were going to scrape the snow off the car, they will do it in their own way. At one point, Nathaniel was on the hood and doing snow angels on top of the windshield. Oh kids. Hubs eventually went out there with them. And when they were all finished, Nathaniel and Amelia were rewarded by playing at the park with friends. (Photos taken March 21, 2018)

Twisted and Tangled 2.0

Eleanor sleeps in her crib for the first half of the evening. Sometime between 2:30 to 3:30am, she wakes up and I move her to our bed. We already know she loves to rub her head side to side, which often results in epic bedhead. But this morning, she woke up with her pajama top all twisted and tangled. It immediately reminded me of Nathaniel when he was about the same age. He did the exact same thing to his top as well! Amelia didn't quite do the same thing, but she loved unbuttoning her pajama top. And she still does to this day! She easily gets hot so often times, I will find her topless, bottomless or both in the morning. And this is why I hire a professional photographer every year to take our family photos. One kid is always looking away or making faces. But I am making an effort to document all three of them together no matter how crazy the end result. And that means not solely relaying on my iPhone and actually blogging about them.

Eye Color

-My children have such beautiful eye colors and I believe that statement isn't biased at all!  -Nathaniel has gorgeous hazel eyes and I am so in love with the green specks.  -Amelia's amber eyes are like honey and gives me that warm, golden glow feeling.  -I can't wait to see and photograph Eleanor's eye color once she is able to cooperate. Right now, they look like they are also going to be amber colored like her Ate. -For those interested in genetics, Dean has blue eyes and I have the typical brown Asian eyes. -Photos taken in May 2017.

First Day of School: Second Grade

Nathaniel has a new school this year! It is a law in Maryland that schools cannot start before Labor Day. So while everyone has been in school for almost a month, Nathaniel is just now starting second grade. We live less than a mile from the school so we are "walkers" for the first time. It also doesn't start until 9:25am so we get to sleep in! Lots of changes this year (from DODEA to public school) but Nathaniel is ready to start and make new friends. Side note: I made his shirt! And he picked the fabric, of course. ;)
