Find Your Happiness

The kids and I are obviously in Indiana for our annual visit. We spent 4th of July at my sister's house since baby Lucy --my newest niece--was only a week old. My sister's in laws also came to celebrate with us. And as always, the day was filled with tons of laughter from the kids and food for the adults. In the evening, we went back to Mom's house to watch the neighborhood's fireworks. Amelia and I didn't stay out to watch the whole thing because she kept wanting to walk near it and also kept tripping on the concrete floor. Hopefully next year, Hubs won't be gone for what would be the third Independence Day in a row and we will get to enjoy the holiday as a family of four. Or at least help me keep an eye out on the kids near the fireworks!

My mom's neighbors graciously shared their sparklers for 4th of July. Isabel and Nathaniel loved lighting them. Unfortunately, Daniel missed all the fun because he refused to nap earlier so he ended up falling asleep super early. Anyway, I especially love the bottom photo. It makes it look as though Nathaniel is holding a wand and casting the "Lumos" spell from Harry Potter.

Amelia hates getting her toenails clipped. It is a wrestling match every time I have to do it. And yet when she saw me painting my toe nails as I get ready for our trip to SC and IN, she decided she wanted hers painted too. She even stayed still! They are a mess because she kept touching them while still wet but it had to be documented! I definitely have a girly girl in my hands. The nail polish is OPI Suzy Shops & Island Hops.

I didn't think Amelia could possibly get any cuter. And then she did! Once again, I am so glad Hubs stopped me from trimming her hair. Now, they are long enough to put in pigtails. She still needs a little clip to keep the bangs off her eyes. But seriously, how adorable is she?!

When Amelia wakes up from her nap and I am busy doing something, I usually asks Nathaniel to go upstairs and entertain his little sister. Today, I was finishing up cooking dinner. And this is what I saw when I came upstairs and peeked through the door. They were watching the digital copy of The Book of Life on my old iPhone 4.
