Find Your Happiness

We went to a car show last weekend but didn't get to stay very long because it started raining. We couldn't really wish for it not to rain since we really need it here in Texas but it was a bummer. Nathaniel was having a good time looking at the cars and watching the motorcycle race and I wasn't able to take photos of the older cars, which I think is a lot cooler than these!

I cannot believe that in a month, we will be moving once again. This makes move #2 just this year! So that means, in two years, we have lived in three states: Indiana, California and Texas. I am already having to plan and finalize Thanksgiving, Nathaniel's birthday/party and Christmas plans/gifts now because we will be "homeless" from the middle of November till indefinitely. We're hoping to purchase a house at our new and permanent(!) duty station, therefore we won't know when we'll actually have a place to live. I'm not very good at adjusting to changes and moving but I just try to take this opportunity to re-decorate our home and to de-clutter. And besides, when would we have had this opportunity to travel this much and see all these beautiful places if it wasn't for the Corps? This photo series was taken a few weeks ago. Nathaniel was being nosy and watching our neighbors move. In just a few short weeks, that would be us. Again....

Week 38: September 17th to September 23rd 260  Nathaniel's first one mile run with Daddy. See Part 1 and 2 . 261  Dahi Murgh (Chicken and Yogurt Curry) with homemade naan; recipe found here . 262  Visiting the cats and dogs at the human society. It was very surprising we made it out of there without a kitten in tow! 263  Rosy cheeks from the hot sun. 264  Learning the concept of sharing with another toddler 265  Mr. Nachman. 266  Watching Toy Story 3 on my iPhone. *cough* We could really use an iPad/tablet. *cough* :)

Nathaniel has such a sweet and affectionate soul. He loves to give hugs and kisses---and sometimes even forces them on you, like in the picture below. We seriously never go a day without getting a million of these. He has now also started to ask for a hug when he is on time-out or while strapped in his car seat when we're out for a drive. Giving a hug is his way of saying "I'm sorry" and he thinks that by giving it sooner, he won't have to sit for the entire minute. And as for asking while we're driving, he is trying to be smart because giving a hug requires being out of the car seat and really, that is his goal. Nathaniel is so ridiculously obsessed with spiders lately. He sees imaginary spiders, gets so ecstatic when he sees them on books and thinks every single type of insects are spiders until I correct him---and even then, he still sometimes insists they are spiders. We are thinking of dressing him as a spider for Halloween, which kind of scares me no matter how adorable he will look I'm sure because I am deathly afraid of spiders. Like, I-scream-bloody-murder-when-I-see-Daddy-Long-Legs type of fear. Here's a video showing some of Nathaniel's latest vocabulary. Week 37: September 10th to September 16th 253  It's been awhile since I worked as a registered nurse but I'm pretty sure this is not how you check someone's blood pressure. 254  Napping with Daddy . 255  Ratatouille on Mushroom and Lemon Couscous. Loosely followed this recipe . 256  The day before, I found Nathaniel pantless. That morning, I found him like this . 257  Hubby graduated first in his class so we celebrated by eating out for breakfast as soon as the ceremony was over. 258  Nathaniel's latest favorite book: Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs . My husband loves reading this book too because he really gets into each of the characters. 259  A big cotton candy-cloud over the barracks/base.
