Where The Wild Things Are

I was on the computer when I looked down and found Nathaniel reading under the table. He was reading one of Dada's favorite books when he was growing up: Where The Wild Things Are. "Oh please don't go--we'll eat you up-we love you so!"

What Little Boys Are Made Of

What are little boys made of? What are little boys made of? Moon and stars and rockets to Mars. Blast and boom and uppity zoom! That's what little boys are made of. What are little boys made of? Snakes and rats and big jungle cats, Vines and rocks and razor-tooth crocs! That's what little boys are made of. What are little boys made of? Sticks and stones and skulls and bones, Ships and sails and oceans and whales! That's what little boys are made of. What are little boys made of? Leap and soar and kick and score, run and jump and bumpity-thump! That's what little boys are made of. What are little boys made of? Horses and lords and knights with swords, Wings and tails and dragons with scales! That's what little boys are made of. What are little boys made of, made of? What are little boys made of? Sugar and spice and everything n...

Crocodile-Bird

A few days ago, during our morning reading time, Nathaniel pointed to the crocodile and kept saying, "Bird!" I corrected him but he kept insisting it was a bird. Then he moved his tiny little finger and sure enough, he was right. Do not question this two year old's ability to name animals. He knows his animals. Do you see the bird? "I pi-yette!"

Nathaniel is really fascinated with pirates right now. He likes to pretend he is one and can often be found in our house with one eye covered and chasing our dog while screaming, "Arrgh! I pi-yette!" To combine his new found interest with pirates and love for books, I borrowed plenty of pirate books at the library. If it is even possible, Nathaniel now enjoys bedtime story with his Dada even more. He is yelling "pi-yette" while reading one of the books. And yes, he is wearing Christmas pajamas :) He has outgrown most of his pajamas and this was on clearance. Why past a great deal, right? Also, you can see his "hurt" on his right wrist. He tripped while we were doing yard work this past weekend. And here he is during breakfast: He covered his eye with a spoon and said, "I pi-yette!" He is such a silly boy :) Linking up to: Supermon: Wordish Wednesday   The Paper Mama: Wordless{ish} Wednesday and then, she {snapped}: W...

"Uuk" (Book)

Nathaniel is big lover of books recently. Most days, his first word/request when I pick him up from his crib in the morning is "uuk" (book) as he points to his bookshelf. We read two to three books less than an hour of waking up and then I lose count for the rest of the day. He sits quietly on your lap, listens and looks at the pictures. He especially enjoys reading with Daddy since my husband gets in character and gets really animated. Nathaniel also enjoys looking at books by himself. Today, he was "helping" me do laundry when he suddenly walked away after a few minutes. I figured I'd finish loading the washer and then I'd go looking for him. I went to our bedroom and then checked the kitchen. I called out his name but no response. That's when I knew to look for him in his room. Sure enough, I found him sitting on the chair with a book on his lap. Pointing at a "burrd" (bird)
