1 Second Everyday - Amelia's First Year

Before Amelia was even born, I knew I wanted to capture one second video everyday for her first year. I only missed a couple days, which I would say isn't bad at all! (One isn't even my fault since I had to take my iPhone in). It makes me so happy and sad at the same time every time I watch it. It brings so many memories--both good and bad. And it makes me sad as I watch her grow from newborn to a year old. Because it really feels like her first year was only in minutes. I blinked and she is already a toddler.

1 Second Everyday 2014

I am extremely ecstatic to finally share my 1 Second Everyday video of 2014. At the beginning of last year, I made a goal to record more videos of us. I am very proud of this project and truly treasure all the homemade videos. I haven't blogged the months May through December but I plan to sit down one of these days and do so. So for now, without further ado, here is a glimpse into our everyday lives in the year 2014 via a compilation of one second videos. 1 Second Everyday - April 2014

We went to the Bellamy Mansion (not recorded) and the USS North Carolina Battleship in Wilmington with my family. We also sunbathed in Topsail and Emerald Isle beach We attended Hubby's battalion spring fling event and Nathaniel climbed the rock wall. He made it a little over halfway up before he wanted to get off. This is also my first time taking the kids all. by. myself. Amelia had her second month well baby visit. She is a whopping 12 pounds! Our first trip to the beach with no extra hands and eyes for help: Onslow Beach. We were in Wilmington to pick up Hubby's contacts and I didn't realize Fort Fisher Aquarium was only another 20 miles away. So we made an impromptu trip and this particular aquarium has a butterfly house. All butterflies were so beautiful and friendly! Dyed Easter eggs using our favorite method: Kool-Aid. We went to the Sesame Street Live USO tour. Not only was this show free, they also gave the children free spinning toys and bandanna!...

1 Second Everyday - March 2014

This month, we spent more days outdoors now that Amelia is getting older and we are starting to have a predictable routine. Took the children out for the first time by myself to their Well Baby Visit appointments. Nathaniel's visit was so traumatic for both of us! Amelia "saw" her first movie at the theaters--The Lego Movie. And by 'saw,' I mean she did great and slept the entire time ;) We remembered and celebrated ED and RJ . Our friend Mac from Georgia visited us for a weekend. Nathaniel started "training" with Daddy to become a better runner. Amelia started cooing and showing her social smile! Another friend Allison and her children from Indiana were also in town visiting her (Marine) brother. We met up with them at the Pine Knolls Shore Aquarium and had dinner the next evening. We celebrated Hubby's birthday and also bid goodbye to him a few days later. He will be gone for five months to a labor intensive school for his new l...

1 Second Everyday: February 2014

This month brought the biggest change in our lives so far this year. We welcomed the newest member of the family--baby girl Amelia. My Mom came here and spent a little over a week to help us during this transition. She was only supposed to be here for a week but we ended up having her for two extra days thanks to the winter storm :) Nathaniel watched his first movie (The Lego Movie) without me or my husband---just more proof that he is growing up so fast! Unfortunately, there is not very much diversity in this month's 1SE since we stayed at home for the majority of the month---most of it cheering for the USA teams in the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

1 Second Everyday: January 2014

I am extremely excited to share this new project I'm doing this year! It is called 1 Second Everyday and it is a glimpse into our everyday lives via a compilation of one second videos. As a photographer, I never have an issue documenting our lives using my DSLR or my iPhone. But with videos? I rarely ever take one. This forces me to capture our lives in movement and I absolutely love it because I am a sucker for home videos. We started this month by packing our house and getting it ready for rent. We moved to North Carolina and stayed in an extended hotel for a week before moving to our newest home. I am on my last month of pregnancy and we also experienced a once in a few years snow in NC.
